Being creative takes a lot of time, patience, space to think, space to create … yet motherhood often does not allow for much of that to happen. So the question I’ve been asking myself is how do we continue to be creative and produce creative work all while raising children? 

Welcome to the Creative Mother Podcast, featuring interviews with creative women from a range of professions, who are also mothers. We will meet artists, designers, musicians, film makers, fashion designers and more, as we talk about the impact of motherhood on women, creativity and business.

I am your host Kate Hursthouse, artist, creative business owner and single mother to one awesome kid. I have run my own creative business since 2014. But becoming a mother really made me question who I was as a person, as a designer, as an artist and I found becoming a mother had a huge impact on my ability to be creative. Connecting with other creative mothers, hearing their stories, knowing that I am not alone has been a huge source of comfort for me.

My hope is that through these conversations we can create an open & honest space to talk, share our stories and help creative mothers everywhere gain a feeling of community, understanding and inspiration.
